Rhythm of the city

The serene conditions on the quiet streets of Bristol during the early hours of the morning is something I always particularly enjoy getting up for. Cleaning my kit and packing the camera bag, I decided on equipping the 18-140mm lens only for this outing - I felt prepared and was relishing the chance of exploring around. Whilst making my way into the heart of the city, I could see the sky forming above into a mixture of pale purple/orange hues - filling me with the hope of photographing a dramatic sunrise! Gradually, the soft morning light started to peek through the clouds, casting a warm glow across the Harbourside. It's these moments where sometimes you have to stop and take in the scene you're in...

The creative and cultured urban setting of my home city will never fail to astound me. The inspiring inventiveness and self-expression of the streets make it a photographer's utopia. From the walls of graffiti to the eclectic architecture, there's no shortage of fascinating subjects to capture through the lens. I often find that no matter what the weather conditions are, there are plenty of opportunities to create a unique image. The contrast of old and new within the city also provides a wide range of themes and subjects to explore. 

With Autumn slowly approaching, I've been busy making plans, and I am looking forward to uncovering some hidden gems within the depths of Somerset. A change of season can always be exciting...
